If the accounts that state 1500 years were to be believed then, the period matches exactly the period during which Bodhidharma visited China. Bodhidharma developed the art of Yijin Jing in China. Yijin Jing is believed to be a part of exercise forms called Qigong, and Tai Chi Chuan also belongs to Qigong. So there are chances of these forms being similar and influencing each other. The theory of Yin and Yang: Tai Chi Chuan focuses on the concepts of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang represent equal halves of everything that helps the universe work properly. Like the sky and earth, male and female and so on. While Yang represents White, Exhale, Release, Expand and Give, Yin represents Black, Inhale, Store, Contract, and Receive.

Legend of Tai Chi Chuan:

Tai Chi Chuan is also known as Taijiquan. Like we said earlier, no one knows who the real founder of the art form is, so most people love to go by the legend that was formed about 700 to 800 years back. The credit of defining the art of Tai Chi Chuan is credited to Zhang San Feng who lived during the 13th century. As the legend goes, he is believed to have developed this art form after he witnessed a dual between a snake and the crane. That’s where he drew his inspiration from.
